Arts Award
Arts award develops your creativity, communication and leadership skills and is a nationally recognised award.
• It is a great way for students to be inspired by and enjoy the arts
• Two levels are offered at Rushey Mead Academy, both are accredited awards • It provides a framework for learning new skills and sharing them • It aids in developing opportunities to develop creativity and leadership skills • It helps form links between young people and creative arts professionals |
BronzeLevel 1 award
40 guided learning hours + 20 independent learning hours. •Take part in the arts •Review an arts event •Research an artist or craftsperson •Pass on arts skills to others |
SilverLevel 2 award
60 guided learning hours + 35 independent learning hours. •Complete an arts challenge •Review an arts event •Research arts careers •Plan, deliver and review a leadership project |
Students who take up Arts Award develop skills in :
· INDEPENDENT LEARNING - Arts Award aims to foster independence. Students are expected to work outside of school and take initiative.
· ORGANISATION - Students will need to be organised! Making sure they attend any workshop sessions and meetings, gathering and generating evidence as they go.

Arts award advisor :
As a part of the process, students will be required to meet REGULARLY with their advisor. This is an opportunity to ask questions and get guidance and support.
