On 5th October, Rushey Mead’s Music Scholarship group and BTEC music students went to the Cinema De-Lux to watch a viewing of BBC’s Ten Pieces II. A multi-media show, combining visuals and special effects, with narrated stories and backgrounds to the music, students were able to hear inspiring world class musicians playing a variety of exciting pieces of music from Bach to Bernstein, to modern day contemporary practices by combining a live orchestra with a DJ scratch artist.
Students will now be encouraged to listen to the pieces again, and engage in discussions about the music as part of developing their own musical awareness and interests, and inspire them in the development of their own skills.
