Congratulations to all of the students who performed in the Dance assemblies the week beginning Monday 30th January. The work was showcased in a professional and sophisticated manor.
48 students across the school from all different year groups had the opportunity to share, 4 different dance pieces with the rest of the school during assembly. The BTEC Year 11 students performed two contrasting routines, a contemporary waltz and an Indian dance which demonstrated, Katak, Bollywood and Bhangra. The Year 10 Dance Leaders group performed a Musical theatre dance piece to ‘A Hard Knocked Life’ from Annie which they had been working on as part of their choreography unit. Finally the Rushey Dance Academy performed a routine inspired by various Micheal Jackson’s songs. The Rushey Dance Academy Dancers rehearse every Thursday after school and had to go through an audition process to get into the group. The Academy is run by a BTEC Year 11 student Kiran Kumar who choreographed the routine.
